Glenn County officials have confirmed its first human case of West Nile Virus. An elderly resident is said to have contracted the non-neuro invasive form of the virus and is recovering at their home. The West Nile Virus has been found in 2 dead birds and eight chickens in the county as well as several samples from pools of water. And....in Shasta County officials have confirmed their first human case of West Nile Virus this year. According to Shasta County Public Health, the resident who contracted the virus is recovering at home. Shasta County officials say that West Nile Virus has been found in all parts of the county and are advising residents to take precautions.
