A former American Legion official plead no contest to embezzlement charges. 45 year old William Henry White made that plea in Butte County Court Thursday on charges he embezzled some 20 thousand dollars from the Gridley American Legion Post 210 over a period of two years. White was reportedly set to undergo a preliminary hearing before making the plea. Charges were White used American Legion funds to cover personal expenses between August of 2014 to February of 2016. He could get up to three years in county prison when he's sentenced November 10th.
