Chico Police have taken custody of the dog in an animal abuse investigation. The alleged abuse took place at an apartment complex on Nord Avenue earlier this month. The owner told police that he had relinquished custody to a third party. During the investigation police found the Husky at an area animal shelter on Saturday morning and took custody of the dog. According to police, after an examination from a veterinarian the dog was found be completely healthy and injury free. Last week the police department submitted the investigation to the Butte County DA's Office for review for potential dog abuse charges.
