A stolen vehicle suspect leads authorities on a chase. Deputies spotted a Chevy Aveo in the area of Roseben Avenue and Elgin Street in Oroville around 11 pm Sunday that had been reported stolen earlier that evening. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver led them on a chase that lasted over 30 minutes with speeds reaching 80 miles per hour. The pursuit ended when deputies reportedly could not see the vehicle due to dust from a dirt road. The car was found abandoned on Grand Oak Drive off of Forbestown Road. The suspect allegedly fled the area on foot and was not found, this according to a Butte County Sheriff's Office press release.
