A biting incident in Downtown Chico sends one woman to jail. Two TARGET team officers were on foot-patrol when they spotted a woman smoking at the Downtown City Plaza around 1 pm Tuesday. One of the officers contacted the woman, identified as 36-year-old Trina Stotler and told her that it was a violation to smoke in that area, but She started to walk away. The officer reportedly tried to restrain Stotler, but she allegedly resisted him. The other officer tried to assist however, Stotler reportedly bit his arm. According to a Chico Police Department press release, the officer was sent to the hospital as a precaution, but he was not seriously injured. Stotler was eventually subdued and arrested. She was charged with resisting the officers.
