Chico Police want to remind the public to follow safety precautions to reduce the likely hood of becoming a victim of burglary.
* Most burglaries happen during the day. When you leave your house remember to close blinds or curtains and do not leave valuables in sight.
* You should always keep your home and vehicle windows closed and doors locked.
* If you have a home alarm system, use it and have signs advertising that your property is protected by an alarm.
* Know your neighbors and look out for each other.
Police also say to be aware of unusual activity taking place in an apartment unit or home you know is vacant. If you suspect individuals are living in the property or if there is illegal activity is occurring to notify the police.
