A Palermo man charged with hit and run made his first appearance in court. 22-year-old Kata Vue and his attorney appeared in front of a Butte County Superior Court Judge Wednesday. The Butte County D-A's Office filed a felony charge of hit and run resulting in serious injury.
The incident happened after 11 Sunday night when a 24-year-old woman was walking alongside of Melvina Avenue and was allegedly struck by Vue's Nissan Altima. She was taken to the hospital where her foot was partially amputated. She has been going through multiple surgeries to save the rest of her foot. Officers found Vue the next day and he was arrested.
According to a Butte County District Attorney's Office, Vue was out on probation for a D-U-I incident from last year.
