The man who started the Ponderosa Fire last August gets 14 years in prison. 30 year old John Ballenger received that sentence today in Butte County Court. The exact sentence was 14 years 4 months with a minimum of 12 years behind bars before he's eligible for parole. He must also pay 2 point 9 million dollars in restitution. He'd pled no contest to the arson charges.
