Butte County Cal Fire crews were busy with fires Thursday afternoon

The first was a group of small spot fires in east Oroville around 3 Thursday afternoon off of Foothill Boulevard at Fairhill Drive on Kelly Ridge. Firefighters quickly knocked down those fires.
After those fires, crews took on a vegetation fire north of Oroville. The "70 Fire" started off of Highway 70 at Table Mountain Road. The blaze burned 20 acres and is now 100 percent contained. According to Cal Fire, several high voltage power lines were impacted by the fire. A transmission line from the Clark Road substation was also affected which knocked out power to nearly 15 hundred customers including Butte College for almost an hour.
Then firefighters went to Cohasset to take on a small vegetation fire. The "Ridge Fire" started after 4 pm at Whispering Pines Drive under a timber canopy. According to Cal Fire, the blaze burned less than acre.
