32-year-old Alton Facciuto is facing a trial this month for stealing his mother's car, but recently released D-N-A results may also tie him to her murder.
60-year-old Sherry Facciuto's body was found in an outbuilding at the family's residence on Anita Road back in January. According to a Butte County District Attorney's Office press release, she had allegedly been strangled to death. Detectives noticed that Facciuto had scratch marks on his face. Material found from under his mother's fingernails were sent to the State Justice Lab reportedly matched D-N-A samples taken from Alton Facciuto.
