There are evacuation warnings and a road closure in Northeast Chico near Highway 32 this morning due to a large grass fire. The Stoney Fire started late last night on the south side of upper Bidwell Park along Highway 32 near the Frisbee golf course. According to Cal Fire, the blaze has burned 150 acres. Cal Fire is also reporting that the area east of the intersection of Shady Brooke Lane and Canyon Oaks Terrace is now under an evacuation order. There are evacuation warnings for Shadowtree and Whispering Winds Lanes. There's an evacuation shelter at the Neighborhood Church on 2801 Notre Dame Boulevard.
The CHP is reporting that Highway 32 is closed from Yosemite Drive and Santos Ranch --- they're estimating the roadway to reopen around 8:30 am.
