A vehicle collision in downtown Chico leads to an arrest this morning. Officers were dispatched to the area of West 5th Street and Chestnut Street around 2:30 am after reports of a vehicle allegedly colliding into several parked vehicles. Witnesses said the driver appeared to be stumbling while he was reportedly attempting to free his vehicle from the other vehicles. The suspected vehicle reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived. Later a deputy spotted a vehicle with damage to the front end in the area of Joshua Tree and East Lassen Avenue. Officers arrived and contacted the driver, identified as Ryan Argueta. He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. His passenger was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained during the collision, according to a Chico Police Department press release.
