North Chico Vehicle Vs Motor Driven Bike

Police release new information is out about a vehicle verses motor driven bicycle collision in North Chico Over the weekend. 26-year-old Zackery Summers was riding his motorcycle westbound on Eaton Road before 6 Sunday evening when he reportedly stopped to turn on Morseman Avenue. According to a Chico Police Department press release, 59-year-old Tong Lee did NOT have time to react and collided into motorcycle. Lee's vehicle then reportedly ended up colliding into a tree as Lee was unable to stop the car. Summers was taken to the hospital for major head injuries and is currently listed in critical condition. Lee was transported to the hospital for moderate injuries. Summers was riding a motor driven cycle that authorities say was not intended to be driven on public roadways and did not have the required reflectors and lighting. Police also say Summer's safety equipment was not properly fastened which contributed to his injuries.
