Butte County Air Quality Advisory

Butte County Air Quality Management District Air Pollution Control Officer and the Butte County Public Helath Officer are issuing a joint Air Quality Advisory today due to the smoke from the Camp Fire.

Unhealthy to very unhealthy conditions are possible throughout most of Butte County today through the weekend while the fire remains active.

The major air pollutant concern is fine particulate matter.

Health officials say to limit outdoor exertion, especially children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing respiratory conditions.

They say if you do go outdoors to wear a mask that is rated N-95 or better. Also, check or replace air conditioner filters. Officials say use filters with a rating of MERV-8 or better. MERV 12 and 13 offer the best protection.
