Police are investigating an assault in downtown Chico earlier this morning. Officers were called out to the City Plaza after 3 this morning where they located two victims who said that they were assaulted by a man. One victim was allegedly struck with a bottle. The 2nd victim was reportedly pushed to the ground and struck with bicycle handlebars. Both victims were treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.
According to a Chico Police Department press release, the suspect known as "William" is described as a heavy-set Hispanic male in his early 20s with dark hair.
