New Camp Fire Grant

There's a new grant to address child trauma as a result of the Camp Fire. Representatives of the Butte Strong Fund announced, on Wednesday, a grant of 232 thousand dollars to the Butte County Office of Education. The grant will fund counselors who will be deployed at schools to support students and staff from January to June of the current school year. According to a North Valley Community Foundation press release, the grant will also cover the office of education's request to provide one full-time coordinator to put together a plan and to ensure mental health services are delivered to schools throughout Butte County.

The Butte Strong Fund was developed as a partnership between the North Valley Community Foundation, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, and the Aaron Rodgers NorCal Fire Recovery Fund.
