Two suspected RV thieves were caught in south Chico. An employee of Les Schwab on Notre Dame Blvd noticed an RV which was parked near the business that appeared to have been tampered with before 8 am. The employee allegedly found two men attempting to hotwire the ignition of the RV. The two men claimed they had permission to move the vehicle. The registered owner however, reportedly informed police they had not given permission to anyone to move the vehicle. According to a Chico Police press release, the suspects, identified as 37-year-old Anthony Ripperger and 34-year-old Renaldo Perez were arrested for attempted vehicle theft.
