An officer spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen turning into the Winco parking lot after 3:30 Monday. The officer attempted to make a high-risk vehicle stop, however, the driver reportedly took off. After a short vehicle pursuit, police say, the suspect parked the vehicle and then fled on foot. Detectives and officers in the area were able to apprehend the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Travis Stites. He was charged with vehicle theft, evading arrest, and driving on a suspended license.

According to police, Stites has a history of drug, theft, and violence.
