Chico Shooting New Information

Chico Police release new details in a downtown shooting incident over the weekend. The shooting took place around 12:45 Saturday morning as two men were walking on Normal Street -- that's when an occupant of a vehicle shot at the two after verbally challenging them. One of the men was reportedly shot in the leg and was treated and released from the hospital the same day.

Then at around 2 Saturday morning Chico Police Detectives were called out to Orland after police there reported a Chevy Camaro had been involved in a collision and that the driver had been arrested for DUI. Detectives linked that vehicle to crime scene in Chico. They also learned that the driver of the Camaro was the alleged shooter, he is identified as 25-year-old Jose Santana-Cuevas. According to Chico Police, Santana-Cuevas allegedly got into an altercation at a Chico bar before the shooting. The suspect was moved from the Glenn County Jail to the Butte County Jail where he faces multiple charges.
