Chico Police have released arrest statistics for the Cesar Chavez Weekend. The Chico Police Department added extra staffing from Friday March 29th through Monday April 1st. The department was also assisted by various agencies including the Chico State Police Department, the Butte County Sheriff's Office, and the California Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control. 56 Misdemeanor Arrests were made over the four day period with the most on Saturday at 26. There were seven total felony arrests. Along with arrests there were 79 alcohol related citations and 117 traffic and parking citations.

On Saturday there was a shooting at a house party in area of West 3rd Street and Cedar Street leaving two people injured.
