Keswick Dam Increased Releases

The Bureau of Reclamation has increased flows coming from the Keswick Dam. Those increases started Tuesday and were bumped up from 30 thousand cubic feet per second to 40 thousand c-f-s. According to a Bureau of Reclamation press release, the increased releases are necessary to meet flood space regulatory requirements within the Shasta Reservoir.
Officials warn that Sacramento River levels have increased downstream of the dam and for people to avoid the high-water areas. They also warn not to walk or drive into or near flood waters.
