Officers were patrolling Community Park on Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway around 11:30 Thursday when they located a reported stolen vehicle in the north parking lot of the park. The registered owner arrived and confirmed that the vehicle was his. He also told officers that he was missing a cell phone and other items. Park staff alerted officers to two suspicious individuals, identified as 38-year-old Joshua Sharp and 33-year-old Christina Ryan who both were reportedly exiting out of the suspected stolen vehicle. Officers then contacted the two and both were arrested on various stolen property and drug charges. According to Chico Police, the stolen vehicle and property were returned to the owner.
