The man who struggled with deputies after an early Monday morning traffic stop has been identified. 31 year old Shelton Wardsworth of Chico attempted to take off on foot after Butte County Sheriffs Deputies stopped a vehicle he was inside in the area of East 1st Avenue and the Esplanade before 2:30 Monday morning. Authorities say before fleeing Wardsworth was noticeably nervous while deputies were patting him down. While deputies were reportedly struggling to detain Wardsworth they allegedly found a gun in his pocket. He was arrested for mutiple charges. 30-year-old Shatana Goods of Chico and 44-year-old Andrea Reichenbach of Oroville were also arrested, both for possession of drug paraphernalia.
