Chico Man Changes Plea

35-year-old Stephen Miller changed his plea Monday from not guilty to no contest to a charge of reckless evasion of a police vehicle.

The charges stem from an incident back in December of 2017 when deputies attempted to stop a vehicle allegedly driven by Miller on East Lassen Avenue. Miller reportedly sped off and deputies lost track of the vehicle. Witnesses reported that miller allegedly drove recklessly through the Lassen Mobile Home Park nearly striking someone.

Deputies found Miller's vehicle abandoned at the mobile home park. He was later found and arrested.

According to Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey, Miller has evaded law enforcement a total of 4 times.
