Reports of a man allegedly hitting a woman behind the Big Tuna restaurant Mangrove Avenue came into Chico Police just before 9 Monday night. When officers located the couple - the male immediately took off running and allegedly began jumping fences on Palm Avenue. Officers found the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Juan Villegas atop the roof of a home on the 1800 block of Palm Avenue. The Hostage Negotiations Team arrived and attempted to talk Villegas down. According to a Chico Police press release, after about an hour, Villegas agreed to come down and was arrested for several domestic violence charges and a violation of parole.
