DWR Weekly Oroville Dam Spillway Update

The Department of Water Resources announced Monday that the current elevation of the Oroville reservoir is at 884 feet and that the water releases from the Hyatt Power Plant are over 7,500 cubic feet per second. DWR officials say the current weather forecasts and expect inflow will not require the use of Oroville Dam's main spillway. They say if that changes, the public will be alerted.

Also from that press release, the DWR stated that they will be reopening access to the Spillway Boat Ramp later this summer. The ramp will be open to the public beginning Friday August 2nd. It will be open from 5 am to 11 pm Friday through Sunday.

And.....

The Feather River Fish Hatchery in Oroville was closed this week and will remain closed to the public for about four weeks for routine maintenance and inspections preformed by the DWR and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Those inspections happen every five years.
