Assemblyman James Gallagher's AB 430 is now before the Governor. Gallagher's housing bill moved through the full Assembly Thursday and was sent to the Governor's desk. A.B. 430 is officially called the Camp Fire Housing Assistance Act of 2019 and will help fast track housing construction by streamlining environmental regulations. Chico will NOT be part of the measure, after asking to be excused from the legislation because it supports the State's Environmental Quality Act or CEQA. Those cities that will benefit include Biggs, Corning, Gridley, Live Oak, Orland, Oroville, Willows and Yuba City.
