Oro Quincy Highway to Reopen Near Mountain House

A section of Oro Quincy Highway near Mountain House damaged by storms will reopen later today. Butte County Department of Public Works officials announced Thursday that all roadway repairs on the highway have been completed and that the roadway is scheduled to reopen to traffic at 5 this evening.

According to officials, two locations on the highway near the community of Mountain House experienced catastrophic failure during storms in 2017.

The over 2 million dollar price tag for the project was primarily funded by Federal Emergency Relief funds with supplemental funding from the SB1 state gas tax.

The county wants to thank local residents for their patience as officials worked for federal funding and environmental approvals necessary to allow the repair project to move forward.
