The Glenn County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a test of the CodeRED and Nixle mass notification systems this morning. Glenn County officials say this is just a drill to test the functionality of the system and not an actual emergency. According to a Glenn County Sheriff's Office press release, those registered can receive alerts in various forms including a voice call, text, email, and through the CodeRED App. The drill is conducted annually in September as part of National Preparedness Month.
There are three ways to register for Glenn County alerts:
1. www.countyofglenn.net/OES
2. Text:
CodeRed: Text GlennCodeRed to 99411
Nixle: Text your zip code to 888777
3. Download the CodeRED mobile app to your smart phone through the Apple or Google Play stores
