PG&E Second Public Safety Power Shutoffs

PG&E is confirming, this morning, that it has shut off power to seven North Bay and Sierra Foothill counties including portions of Butte County. The shutoffs started around 2 am due to hot, dry, and windy weather conditions. According to PG&E, over 48 thousand people in portions of Butte, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sonoma, and Yuba counties will effected by the shutoffs.

According to PG&E spokesperson Paul Moreno, after the dry and windy weather has passed, PG&E crews will visually inspect over 27 thousand miles of power lines to ensure they are free from damage and safe to energize. Depending on weather conditions and if any repairs are needed, outages could last longer than 48 hours.
