Police cited clerks of Chico stores for selling tobacco products to minors. The citations issued Wednesday were a result of a youth decoy program under the direct supervision of School Resource Officers. The decoys attempted to purchase tobacco products from 13 tobacco retail stores in Chico. Three clerks were cited for selling tobacco products to minors.

According to the Chico Police Department, the goal of the operation is to limit youth access to tobacco and vape products and to confirm that local businesses are operating within compliance of the law.
