City patrol officers arrived to the Rite Aid on Mangrove Avenue just before midnight Thursday and spotted a woman inside the store who quickly disappeared from view. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Jennifer Kachur complied with verbal commands and exited the business and was taken into custody. According to Chico Police, evidence at the scene suggested that Kachur was allegedly in the process of stealing merchandise from the store.
