Pacific Gas and Electric Company issued a Public Safety Power Shutoff Wednesday due to gusty winds and dry conditions across Northern California. PG&E has shut off power to 179 thousand customers in 17 counties including Butte, Yuba, and Tehama counties. More than 23,450 residents of Butte County have been impacted by the blackouts. 2,500 customers have been reported without power in Paradise and Magalia. Large areas of northern and eastern Oroville have been impacted. All of Butte Valley including Butte College's main campus are without power. Portions of north Chico have also been affected, according to PG&E.
