Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara issued an emergency notice Wednesday requesting that all property and casualty insurance companies doing business in California expedite claims for those affected by wildfires across the state in order to help them begin the recovery and rebuilding process more quickly.

The Commissioner is asking insurance companies to provide greater flexibility with some deadlines and documentation typically required to pay claims.
