California Water Service announced Monday the 10 winners of their first-ever Firefighter Grant Program which they say supports the needs of fire departments in the utility's service areas. Chico Fire and Butte Fire are among those 10 fire departments receiving funding from the $160,000 grant. Chico Fire received funding for an unmanned aircraft system to assist in detection for search and rescue and for fire hot spots. The Butte County Fire Department got a grant to fund a hydraulic emergency ram.
