Vehicle Stop in North Chico Leads to Arrests

Officers with the Street Crimes Unit were about to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Pillsbury Road and East Avenue around 7:45 Thursday night when they learned the vehicle had been reported stolen. Officers then boxed in the driver at the Taco Bell drive thru. Officers searched the vehicle where they reportedly uncovered methamphetamine and a loaded rifle. According to the Chico Police Department, officers arrested the driver, 33-year-old Joseph Baker for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The passenger, Britteny Bell, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
