The Federal Environmental Protection Agency says Chico has the 6th most polluted air in the country for a small city. The E.P.A. measured what's known as the Air Quality Index for small, midsize and large metropolitan areas. According to a press release, the index found Chico was 6th among small cities, and has only 152 good air quality days a year.
