With Valentine's Day this Friday, PG&E wants to show Chico residents how to safely handle and dispose of metallic balloons. PG&E representatives will be at the Sycamore Pool at the One-Mile Recreation Area at Bidwell Park this morning at 11:30 in order to warn customers about the pubic safety risks associated with helium-filled metallic balloons. They will show how to weigh down the balloons in order to keep them from floating into power lines causing power outages and fires. PG&E staff will also show how to properly deflate the balloons for re-use.
