Chico Police learned that a loaded firearm had been reported stolen after 6 Wednesday night. Officers learned that the suspect's mother had taken him to the motel and that he allegedly attempted to steal her car keys, but she fled into the lobby. He reportedly fired four shots from a firearm outside of the office. Officers found the suspect identified as Michael Sans Cartier-Ward at Denny's, which they then evacuated. According to the Chico Police Department, officers arrested him for being a drug addict in possession of a firearm. Police say, however, that the gun was not located.
