The Chico Police Department conducted a Tobacco Decoy Operation Thursday. Minors under the direct supervision of School Resource Officers, attempted to purchase tobacco products from 10 tobacco and vape retail licensees in Chico. A store on West 2nd Street was cited for selling a flavored disposable vaping device to one of the youth decoys.

Chico Police say the goal of the Youth Decoy Program is to limit youth access to tobacco and vape products, and to confirm that local businesses are operating within compliance of the law.
