Officers arrived to an apartment complex on West Sacramento Avenue around 10:12 Sunday night after Chico P-D received multiple 9-1-1 calls about a fight at that location. Officers learned that during the fight a party-goer allegedly pulled a handgun and fired several rounds striking a vehicle and buildings at the apartment complex along with an adjacent apartment complex. Officers located the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Asante Ayers reportedly tried to discard the handgun while being contacted by officers. According to Chico Police, Ayers was determined to be a convicted felon and that the fire arm had allegedly been stolen. He was arrested for numerous charges.
