The state will soon produce its own insulin. Governor Newsom approved a measure yesterday which invests one-hundred-million-dollars into the development of low-cost insulin. The funding will also help create a manufacturing facility with the goal to make a generic option and sell it below market value. The Governor says the price for a vial of insulin ranges from three-hundred to five-hundred-dollars. The drug would be available to both insured and uninsured residents.
