The man authorities say is responsible for the death of a Chico man and the attempted murder of a woman has been found to be competent to stand trial Thursday. According to the Butte County District Attorney's Office, the psychologist's report came back with the opinion that 48-year-old suspect Timothy Wiechert was found competent to stand trial. Wiechert will be back in court on May 18 for setting of a preliminary hearing.
