Chico PD to Hold Community Engagement Meeting

On Thursday, , the Chico Police Department will hold a Community Engagement Meeting in accordance with Assembly Bill 481. The meeting will be held in the City of Chico Council Chambers and begin at 6 p.m. AB 481 requires law enforcement agencies to obtain approval of a Military Equipment Use Policy from their applicable governing body before taking certain actions related to the funding, acquisition, or use of military equipment as defined by the legislature. The Military Equipment Use Policy is subject to City Council review to determine whether the standards outlined in AB 481 have been met, based upon an Annual Military Equipment Use Report. Chief Billy Aldridge has made the decision to hold the community engagement meeting before the City Council reviews the policy to gain input from the community.
