Newsome's Prop 1 still too close to call

Governor Gavin Newsom's Prop 1 is as tight as can be but opponents may be throwing in the towel. In a statement Tuesday, Californians Against Proposition 1 said the ballot measure will likely pass "even if by a razor-thin margin." The Secretary of State's office said the vote remains too close to call. The "Treatment Not Tents" initiative is Newsom's strategy for funding more treatment beds and housing to address the state's homelessness crisis. It would be a major revision to California's Mental Health Services Act. Anthony Clark, spokesman for the Prop 1 campaign told the Sacramento Bee the measure will provide the housing that allows CARE Court to work.
