SCOTUS Homeless Camping
The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Grants Pass in a case that will have wide-ranging impacts on local communities and how they handle homelessness
on their streets...... The ruling will allow Grants Pass, Oregon to
enforce their anti-camping ordinances in public spaces....meaning they can clear the homeless and transients from their streets and parks.
Hundreds of local municipalities were awaiting the ruling as it affects how
they can implement their own ordinances. The City of Chico was hoping for this ruling but City Manager Mark Sorenson says Chico must still adhere to a decision handed down by the federal courts last year.....
Sorenson does the High Court's ruling means they can go back to federal court
and ask for modifications on the Warren Settlement
