Man Guilty DUI Crash that kills 2
A Butte County Superior Court jury convicted a man of murder in the 2022 killings of two college students after a crash in Chico.
Matthew Moen, 33, of Concow, was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder after he killed Cassi Tejeda, 22, and Courtney Kendall, 24, when Moen drove while intoxicated at speeds exceeding 75 miles per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour school zone. Moen faces 30 years to life in prison for the two convictions. Judge Virginia Gingery ordered Moen to be held in the Butte County Jail without bail until his sentencing on October 3, 2024.
