Following a 50 day investigation , officials with Cal FIre and the BUtte County Sherrifs Office arrested a man for starting the Thompson Fire in Oroville that burned 3,789 acres, destroying 13 single-family homes and damaging another five Cal Fire arrested Spencer Anderson in Chico last Thursday. He was booked into Butte County Jail, facing charges of arson to wildland and structures with an enhancement for the destruction of five or more inhabited structures. Anderson will be arraigned in Court Today.
