Former Student Sues Gridley Unified
The Gridley Unified School District is now at the heart of a lawsuit which alleges that school officials failed to protect an eighth grade student from being groomed and sexually abused by his teacher. The lawsuit follows the criminal case and subsequent sentencing of the Gridley teacher, 46 year-old Michelle Solis, who is now serving the maximum sentence of four years instate prison for having sex with her 14 year-old male student.
he suit, filed this week in Butte County Superior Court, claims school had enough knowledge of Solis' activities with the student, referred to as John Doe in court documents, but still failed to intervene during the 2020-21 school year.
