Chico Airport receives Federal Grant
The City of Chico has been awarded a $1 million federal grant to support efforts in restoring commercial air service to the Chico Regional Airport. This grant helps small communities address needs for air service. Funding from the DOT will be deposited in the City's Revenue Guarantee Fund, a community supported fund operated through the North Valley Community Foundation. The Revenue Guarantee Fund, a vital part of Chico's Airline Incentive Package, is sustained through contributions from local community partners and generous individuals who understand the importance of connecting Chico to other prime destinations.
This year, the initial $500,000 DOT SCASDP grant was replaced with a new $1 million DOT SCASDP grant. This results in a net increase of $500,000 to the balance of the Revenue Guarantee Fund.
